Firefighters extinguished a commercial fire early Wednesday that burned on the roof of a soon-to-be-demolished building in southwest Oklahoma City.
About 10:15 a.m., fire radio reports indicated black smoke was coming from the roof of the former Dayton Tire plant, 7501 SW 29. The building was evacuated and no civilians or firefighters were injured, said fire Deputy Chief Marc Woodard. After about 20 minutes, the blaze was extinguished.
The fire is likely to have started as workers prepped the building for demolition, Woodard said.
