— Edmond planning commissioners approved a final plat and site plan this week for a new Carl's Jr. near Danforth Road and Kelly Avenue.

City council members will make a final decision on the final plat on Monday. The site plan process is complete with the planning commissioners.

Tinker Federal Credit Union is located on the north, and Edmond Public School District offices are to the west of the site. The building would be 2,936 square feet on a 47,000-square-foot lot.

There would be a shared driveway on Danforth Road and a shared use of the Edmond Public School District driveway, also serving Tinker Federal Credit Union. School officials approved the shared use of the driveway, City Planner Bob Schiermeyer said.

Drainage detention would be accomplished off-site, north across the Tinker Federal Credit Union property to an area on the Edmond Public Schools property.

Schiermeyer said the restaurant owner said Brett Towne, associate superintendent for general administration, agreed to the use of the school district property for the drainage detention.
