Common-sense step to nation’s drug laws
The Senate Judiciary Committee will soon consider a bill that will restore a little sanity to our nation’s drug laws. The bill by Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill. , equalizes penalties for powder and crack cocaine offenses and eliminates the five-year automatic sentence for possession of crack.
