Communications difficult after Oklahoma tornado

Oklahoman Published: May 20, 2013

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin says it is taking time to establish communications in Moore.

Fallin says the scope of the Monday disaster is so great that state officials needed more time to open lines of communication with rescuers.

Fallin says she has not been informed of any confirmed fatalities.

Fallin says land lines are down in the Moore area and so many people are using their mobile phones that cell lines are congested.
