UCO cheer squad wins title
EDMOND — The University of Central Oklahoma’s cheer squad captured its third consecutive Division II STUNT National Championship at Oklahoma City University’s Abe Lemons Arena after defeating Michigan’s Davenport University 26-24. STUNT is a competitive team sport derived from cheerleading. It removes the crowd-leading element and focuses on the technical and athletic components. Austin Robles is the UCO squad coach and is assisted by Desiree Maw.
Skateboard exbhit on display
NORMAN — “Ramp It Up: Skateboard Culture in Native America” is on display at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History through June 15. In conjunction with the exhibit, a special public event in partnership with the Jacobson House Native Art Center will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the museum. The event will be free and include family-friendly activities, a live painting session by three Indian artists and a silent auction.
Family secrets to be discussed
MIDWEST CITY — How to navigate family secrets will be discussed at Lifetree Cafe at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The program features the filmed story of a woman who found a missing family member who had been given up for adoption. The Lifetree event will offer tips on handling a variety of family secrets.
