Family hospice seeks visiting volunteers

The McCortney Family Hospice is seeking volunteers to visit patients and help with nursing home activities for one hour each week. Scheduling is flexible. Volunteers typically visit individual patients, conduct nursing home activities or sit with patients in their home to give caregivers a break. Training classes are scheduled regularly. Museum offers free admission to celebrate Library Day

— The Pioneer Library System will hold its annual Library Day on Saturday at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, 2401 Chautauqua Avenue. All museum visitors will receive complimentary admission if they show a library card. For those who don’t have a card, library staff will be on hand to sign them up. Community emergency response team training set

— The Edmond Department of Emergency Management will host a Community Emergency Response Team training session in July. The course is conducted by the Department of Homeland Security and will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 12 and July 19. Another session will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 26.
