Family party to benefit Nichols Hills maintenance

Party in the Park will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kite Park in Nichols Hills. There will be food trucks, face painting, carnival games, a raffle and a performance by the Sugar Free All Stars. Admission is $10 per family. Proceeds benefit Hills Parks, Inc,. a nonprofit organization created for the purpose of landscaping parks and medians and other common areas in Nichols Hills. Kite Park is between Huntington Avenue and Camden Way in Nichols Hills.

Train groups to make tracks to library for model event

— The local model train community returns to the Norman Public Library, 225 N Webster Ave., Saturday and Sunday for Train Days. The model trains will be running during library hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday. The South Canadian Model Railroad Club with support from the Oklahoma N-Rail group will bring model railroads, sets and train cars to the Lowry Room. Members also will be on hand to answer questions.
