Computer testing costly, unnecessary

Good for Judith McCreight (Your Views, May 8), and good for the 63 percent of schools staying with the paper and pencil testing. I'm certain that all of our superintendents and principals have enough common sense and professional knowledge to weed out low-performing teachers without the help of state Schools Superintendent Janet Barresi and her esteemed board. Perhaps the outrageous amount of money Barresi spent for computer testing could go toward an increase in teacher salaries.

I'm just thankful for the dedicated teachers and administrators we have. I suggest they consider grading Barresi on the fine job she's doing!
