Concussion, years of playing football linked to brain injury in local study

Years of playing football and experiencing concussions were correlated with slower reaction times and a certain area of the brain becoming smaller, according to a study of University of Tulsa football players conducted by the Laureate Institute of Brain Research in Tulsa.

The results of the study were published Wednesday in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

The study involved 75 TU students, including 50 football players, half of whom had history of concussion.
