Congress ineffective against overreaching president

President Obama has thrown down the gauntlet with these words: “I have a pen and I have a phone.” He won't wait for Congress but will take action through executive order, his Cabinet and regulatory agencies. He's right: He does have a pen and a phone. What he doesn't have is constitutional authority to do what he's said — unless Congress allows it. Shame on them if they do!

Congress admits that this president is overreaching. Their argument for inaction is that they need more Republicans to get elected. This is like seeing the fire but waiting for 20 firefighters instead of using the 10 you have to fight the fire while the others come to join the battle.
