HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy is opening the governor's residence to the public, but just for the day.

The governor is participating in Saturday's 10th annual Connecticut Open House Day, and is opening mansion in West Hartford to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tours.

Open House Day is run by the state's Office of Tourism, and involves free admissions, discounts and special exhibits at famous homes, museums, galleries and other attractions across the state.

The governor plans to be home for part of the day to greet his guests.

The tour of the governor's residence also includes the outdoor sculpture park, which features artwork donated by local artists, and the garden, designed by the architectural landscape program at the University of Connecticut.
