REACTION

What they said

Here are comments from attendees of U.S. Rep. James Lankford's community forum Tuesday in Oklahoma City. Attendees were asked why they attended the forum and what they think the biggest issue is in this year's election.

• “I'm here because our

country is deeply in

trouble. People need to

know what we can do

to change what has

happened. We have lost

our way as a country.

The biggest issue is

repealing Obamacare.

It will kill the country

financially.”

• “I came because I like

to stay current on

current affairs. I have

great interest in this.

I think the biggest

issue is the

economy, just like

everyone else.”

• “He's a very

knowledgeable

congressman. My

husband and I learn

something new every

time we come. We

respect him. The new

health care is a scary

thing for people on

Medicare and Social

Security. We don't

know what's going

to happen.”

• “I just had to find

out exactly where

Lankford stands on

issues. I've been

unable to get any

answers. The

biggest issue for

me is the Citizens

United decision.

You're basically buying

your government.

I'm concerned about it.”

• “My husband and I

came to talk to people

with influence and

avenues to solve

problems. For me,

health care is the

biggest issue. I'm a

nurse and see millions

of dollars go down

the drain every year.”
