Construction on Midwest City-Del City elementary schools is humming along

New school buildings in Midwest City are taking shape.

Construction continues in the Midwest City-Del City School District as the first new schools since 1973 are going up quickly.

The new Soldier Creek Elementary, 9021 SE 15, and the new school building near East Side Elementary, 600 N Key Blvd., are the result of a $90.5 million bond package approved in September 2011.

The new schools should be opened by the 2014-15 school year.
