As if there was any doubt, one of the new Nigerian dwarf goats at the Oklahoma City Zoo will be named Gotebo. Oklahoma City Zoo officials this week announced the results of their Name That Goat Contest. Name submissions were limited to the names of Oklahoma towns. More than 600 suggestions came in for the dozen goats that will live in the new Children’s Zoo, set to open in March, zoo officials said.
Gotebo received the most votes. The other goats will be named Bowlegs, Bixby, Chandler, Dewey, Duncan, Edmond, Hugo, Jet, Norman, Oologah and Perry. Zoo staff assigned the names.
