North Dakota State's defense remains stingy, giving up just 7.8 points per game
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Top-ranked North Dakota State has given up just 7.8 points through four games this season.
The Bison (4-0) topped South Dakota State 20-0 in Brookings, S.D., on Saturday, holding the FCS's top rusher, Zach Zenner, to just four yards. Zenner had been averaging 185.5 yards per game.
The Bison next weekend are set to face the Missouri Valley Football Conference's other defensive powerhouse, Northern Iowa (4-0), which has been allowing just 11.8 points per game. The No. 5 Panthers topped No. 9 McNeese State, 41-6 at home on Saturday.
