Already there have been outbreaks at Duke, Tulane, Wisconsin, Mississippi, Washington State and most recently Florida.

Division II Stillman College in Alabama had to cancel its season opener because 37 players had flu-like symptoms.

The bug has bit prominent quarterbacks such as Joe Cox of Georgia, Jevan Snead of Mississippi and Colt McCoy of Texas.

There are steps to take for those who are stricken. They include rest, fluids, Tylenol, ibuprofen or, as in the case of McCoy, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and grape Pedialyte during halftime against Texas Tech.

Isolation also is recommended.

If the Gators are smart, they’ll transform Tim Tebow into Bubble Boy until this thing passes.

Let’s say the Florida flu intensifies and the weakened Gators stumble on Saturday at Kentucky, or at LSU in two weeks.
