County wants to buy GM plant for Tinker
Oklahoma County residents likely will vote in May on an $84.5 million bond issue largely aimed at enabling the county to buy the abandoned General Motors plant and lease it to Tinker Air Force Base .
The 3.8 million-square-foot plant and the 430 acres it sits on would cost the county $55 million. General Motors stopped production at the plant in 2006, but still owns it.
