Cowboy Tailgating: Kingfisher Tailgate
When a bunch with roots to Kingfisher County decided they needed to set up a proper tailgate, the decision to turn to Bart Towne, OSU Class of 1985, was easy as 1-2-3.

1. Bart lives in Stillwater working as a power lineman, which means he’s able to reserve a plumb spot in advance of game day. "I'll put up tents as early as Wednesday," he said. 2. Bart can really cook. It’s no surprise when you learn that he grew up in the restaurant business, his grandmother running the Cattleman’s Cafe in Kingfisher for years. And then there’s the fact that he’s been the go-to food provider for the Tumbleweed’s big events, including the annual Calf Fry. 3. He’s pretty handy as a metal and iron fabricator. Taking a fuel tank on the verge of disposal, he turned it into a first-rate, industrial-sized smoker and mounted it on a Poke-orange trailer. The result is a spot just southwest of the stadium for Kingfisher County’s substantial Cowboy contingent to carouse before kickoff. If you prefer your thoughts to appear in The Oklahoman's Opinion section, we encourage you to submit a letter to the editor.
