Perry resident Bryan Brady never thought about running his own tailgate until attending his new son-in-law's tailgate.

"I caught the bug," Brady said while heating up ribs he had grilled the night before. "We did the cooking last night to make sure it all came out all right."

Despite being a rookie tailgater hosting his own tailgate, Brady's fall-off-the-bone ribs were praised.

"If you're from Perry, you know how to make good ribs," said one man attending Brady's tailgate.

Brady, a former Texas journalist, received his master's degree from OSU and now has two sons enrolled there. His sons and their friends played washers, ate and drank as Brady cooked and oversaw the popular margarita machine.

"We'll be here all season," Brady said as he handed a woman a frozen margarita.
