OSU football: Cowboys’ Bowling faces drug charges
STILLWATER — Oklahoma State receiver Bo Bowling pleaded not guilty to felony drug charges Tuesday, according to court documents, and his status with the Cowboys remains uncertain.
"Bo Bowling has been suspended from team activities,” said Kevin Klintworth, OSU’s associate athletic director for media relations. "His permanent status with the team will be re-evaluated at a later date but probably not before the legal process has been completed.” The charges included possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. A search warrant was executed at approximately 4 a.m. Sunday, which led police to seize various amounts of drugs and several drug-related items, according to Stillwater Police Captain Randy Dickerson. Bowling was not arrested at the time, but charges were later filed and Bowling appeared in court Tuesday without an attorney, according to documents on the Oklahoma State Courts Network Web site. The documents said he entered a plea of not guilty and was later released on $2,500 bond. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 2. Police seized a total of 108.6 grams of marijuana, which Dickerson said is considered "excessive for personal use.
