STILLWATER -- This year’s Bedlam Blood Battle with Oklahoma Blood Institute is set for Nov. 12-16.
Sponsored by the Student Alumni Board, Oklahoma State University will compete with the University of Oklahoma to see which can rally the most blood donors.
OSU blood drives will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day in Gallagher-Iba’s east lobby and the Kerr-Drummond Mezzanine.
The campus that can generate the largest number of blood donors will earn a trophy and bragging rights. A special week-long drive will be held on both OU and OSU campuses and with a series of drives to be held on each campus in the spring.
All donors will receive an OSU “I Bleed Orange” T-shirt, free food, and a chance to win a pair of tickets to the Nov. 24 Bedlam football game in Norman, OK**.
One lucky donor each day will win a football autographed by OSU Head Coach Mike Gundy.
Mike Holder, athletic director for Oklahoma State University said “OSU is proud to support OBI and the Bedlam Blood Drive. Our Cowgirls and Cowboys understand the need for this effort and have always responded in great numbers.”
Every two seconds, someone needs blood. Donors with OBI provide every drop of blood needed by patients in more than 140 medical facilities across Oklahoma. Those who are generally healthy and age 16* or older are eligible to donate blood every 56 days.
