Although leading by 14 and clearly headed toward another win, the Cowboys were challenged at halftime by coach Travis Ford.

“We talked about a lot of things at halftime,” said Ford, whose team eventually won 82-50. “We were actually in there for a long time, and there were a lot of things we needed to do better in the second half. We went out and did most of them.”

Among the items: better rebounding, after being tied 17-17 on the boards through 20 minutes; more offensive flow; getting Le'Bryan Nash involved.

The Cowboys out-rebounded TCU 29-16 in the second half and worked the offense better by getting Nash going, with the junior scoring 11 of his 13 points. Nash made just 1 of 5 shots, with one rebound in the first half.

“I had a terrible first half,” said Nash, who finished with eight boards, “so that was one of the key points coming out in the second half, to get me going inside.”

KU again sits atop the Big 12 standings at 3-0 and is 12-4 overall.
