For Oklahoma State’s basketball team, the SEC/Big 12 Challenge will have a familiar look, with South Carolina again the matchup. One difference: this time the Cowboys go on the road.

Well, two differences, actually: OSU is rebuilding, while the Gamecocks are returning five players who started at least 20 games last season.

The Cowboys won the meeting last winter, routing South Carolina 79-52 at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Gamecocks went on to finish 14-20 overall, yet rallied late to win four of their last five games, including a 72-67 win over eventual national runner-up Kentucky.

South Carolina figures to be on the rise under coach Frank Martin, led by Sindarius Thornwell, who was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.

The game is set for Dec. 6, which is also the date of the Bedlam football game in Norman.
