A surprise for a returning soldier

LARAMIE, Wyo. -- Homecoming had an extra rev to it for one Oklahoma Army National Guard soldier upon his return from a tour of duty in Iraq.

Besides seeing his family and friends in his hometown of Coweta, Okla., Chief Warrant Officer Andrew Stiles was presented with his 1973 Plymouth Barracuda, which had been totally overhauled and restored by students at WyoTech in Laramie.

"I was totally shocked. I had no idea," Stiles said in an interview with the Laramie Boomerang. "It's a beautiful car."

Some 300 people, including many WyoTech students, instructors and officials, were on hand May 17 to witness the surprise revelation of the fully restored car at Coweta First Assembly of God Church, which Stiles attends.

His wife, Tammy, led the blindfolded Stiles to his 'Cuda, its yellow-pearl paint flashing beneath black racing stripes.

"It didn't dawn on me," he said. "I looked at this beautiful, yellow Barracuda, but it's like, 'That's not my car.
