SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Oklahoma State coach Jim Littell has been inundated by friends and fans telling him the Cowgirls have nothing to lose against unbeaten Notre Dame. He doesn't agree.
Littell says the Cowgirls have a chance to make it to a regional final, a feat they've never accomplished, so he believes they have a lot to lose.
The Irish (34-0) head into their game against the Cowgirls (25-8) on Saturday not only undefeated, but have only been seriously challenged in a few games. The only games they failed to win by double digits were a seven-point victory at Virginia and a four-point win at Maryland.
Coach Muffet McGraw says the biggest pressure came in the first two rounds of the tournament knowing the regional finals were in South Bend.
