Cowgirls sweep Oklahoma Christian in softball scrimmage action

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl softball team opened up the fall scrimmage season with a double header sweep of the Oklahoma Christian Eagles tonight.
OSU run-ruled the Eagles 11-0 in game one before giving up two runs in the bottom of the seventh in the second game for a 5-2 victory. Sam Heinlein blasted two home runs in the first game as she went 3-for-3 with five runs batted in. She was one of five Cowgirls with multiple hits as Heather Kim, Breana Casaus, Chelsea Garcia and Kati Phillips each went 2-for-3. In game two, the Cowgirls scored two runs in the bottom of the second when freshman Julie Ward doubled up the middle and with two outs and scored on a double by senior Jessica Meza. Freshman Chelsea Garcia then hit a triple to right field, scoring Meza.
