Cox is negotiating to air OSU-Arizona football game

Cable system has no plans to carry Pac-12 Network in Oklahoma

Cox Communications is negotiating with the Pac-12 Network to carry the OSU-Arizona game, but has no plans to carry the network on a full-time basis, spokeswoman Christine Martin said Monday.

“We're working to bring that game independently,” Martin said.

Martin said it wouldn't be a good business decision for the cable provider to carry the network full-time because of the cost involved. “It's the same reason we don't offer many of the other sports networks,” she said. “They don't have a huge impact on our fan base.”

Martin said Cox plans to carry the network in Pac-12 markets.

The OSU-Arizona game is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Sept. 8 in Tucson, Ariz., and will be the Cowboys' first road game of the season.

The network, which is owned by the conference, consists of seven channels, one national feed and six regional feeds — one for each area of the conference. The network launches Wednesday on several cable providers, but has yet to reach an agreement with either of the main satellite providers, DirecTV or Dish.
