Cox has a similar joint venture with Nebraska football games.

“We are really bullish on this,” Bruce said. “We think this is a great opportunity for fans to interact a little more with the team. You can’t get much of an expert than Barry Switzer for OU or Pat Jones for Oklahoma State.”

Cox has started grouping all the sports channels, from 1300 to 1449 to make it easier for fans to find them. Those channels will continue to air in their current locations and will be duplicated in the sports block, which includes channels for on-demand sports programming.

Berkinshaw said Cox has added about a dozen sports networks in the last 14 months, including Big Ten and Pac-12, to its Sports Pak 2, which is available for an additional $10 a month.

Sports Pak 2 also includes the popular NFL RedZone highlight channel, NFL Network, MLB Network, MLB Network Strike Zone, Universal Sports Network, beIN Sports and beIN Sports en Espanol for soccer and outdoor channels Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network.
