Crest Foods plans Norman store

Retail is booming in Norman, with Crest Foods planning to build a new store in the University North Park shopping center, Equity Realty's Eric Fleske announced Wednesday.

The store is in the planning stages, but will be just east of the small strip center that includes Zio's Italian Kitchen and Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

Speaking during the first meeting of the “35 South Project,” an effort of the Norman Chamber of Commerce to connect with Norman-to-Oklahoma City commuters, Fleske detailed several new retailers in Norman. Other developments include a new hotel being planned near the Embassy Suites, a Chuy's restaurant opening soon in the former Santa Fe Cattle Co. and Local, a restaurant coming to the Normandy Creek Shopping Center at 24th Ave. SW and Main Street. He also touted the recent additions of The Big Tuna Fish Joint (a Hal Smith concept) and Coolgreens to the Norman market.
