— Crews battled several fires along Interstate 40 in Shawnee on Friday afternoon.

Shawnee officials said the fires were under control by 3:30 p.m. Friday. A boat dealership on the north side of the interstate sustained damage, officials said, with several boats catching fire and spitting out thick, black smoke.

Avery Sullivan, an Oklahoma City resident, said she saw several boats in the dealership on fire as she passed through Shawnee on I-40. Another grass fire was burning about two miles away, she said.

In Oklahoma City, crews worked to put out a fire at a trailer court at 2726 W Sheridan Ave. That fire was reported shortly after 2 p.m. Friday.

Damage estimates were not immediately available.
