NORMAN — City crews spent Thursday and part of Friday repairing water main breaks on Main Street between Webster and Santa Fe avenues.
Crews replaced about 57 feet of a 12-inch water line, which first ruptured about 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Workers fixed the broken segment, but a second break in the same line occurred about noon, Utilities Director Ken Komiske said.
Utility customers in the 200 block of W Main were without water most of the day on Thursday. Service was restored about 5 p.m. after the line was repaired. Crews returned on Friday to finish filling in trenches and repave the roadway.
Traffic was narrowed to one lane to accommodate the repairs, city officials said.
