Cross-country car theft suspect in Clinton jail

CLINTON — A 24-year-old is being held in Custer County after a string of robberies and car thefts in three different states.

Norman Pauling was taken into custody yesterday after a police chase ended on a county road near Clinton. Pauling, who is originally from South Carolina , was chased after police responded to report of a fight at the Pizza Hut in Clinton about 11:25 a.m.
