CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Cubs have claimed right-hander Zach Putnam off waivers from the Colorado Rockies.

Putnam spent most of this season with Triple-A Colorado Springs, posting a 3-4 record with 12 saves and a 4.15 ERA. He pitched a scoreless inning in each of his two appearances with Colorado.

The Rockies acquired Putnam in a trade with the Cleveland Indians on Jan. 20.

The 25-year-old Putnam is 1-1 with a 4.82 ERA in 10 career games with Cleveland and Colorado over the last two seasons.

The Cubs announced the move on Friday.
