STAR WATCH

D.J. Ward, Douglass

With his eligibility through the OSSAA all cleared up after moving from Lawton, Ward was back on the football field. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound Oklahoma commit made the most of his action, both at defensive end and tight end during the semifinals and finals of the All-City Preview.

Ward was consistently pressuring the quarterback and helping to contain the run game.

Theo Berry, Shawnee

Berry had a strong scrimmage at Norman, including a one-handed catch near midfield, as the Wolves fell to Stillwater 14-7 at the Top of the World Classic.

Joel Blumenthal, Deer Creek

Blumenthal's scrimmage was up and down, as Norman's bigger front put plenty of pressure on the senior.

Blumenthal still made a couple of nice passes, especially to senior receiver Jared Rayburn.

Zach Long, Norman

The Tigers' quarterback is known mostly for his arm, but showed off his legs, breaking off a 57-yard touchdown run on Norman's first series of its scrimmage against Deer Creek.

Devin Rolan, McAlester

Rolan missed the Buffaloes' scrimmage, which wrapped up with a half-game against Choctaw, after getting dinged up earlier in the week.

The Tulsa commit said he hoped to return for next week's season opener against Stillwater.

Zac Uhles, Norman

Uhles, like Rolan a Tulsa commit, was solid up front as Norman used Long's scramble to hold off Deer Creek in the half-game scrimmage.
