The Dallas Cowboys have decided to release DE DeMarcus Ware, as reported by their website Tuesday.
Ware's imminent release was the biggest news of a flurry of transactions on the first day of free agency Tuesday. Reports are that Ware refused to rework his current deal that would pay him $12.25 million in base salary this upcoming season.
By releasing him, the Cowboys get $7.4 million in cap space.
Ware turns 32 in July and is coming off a season in which he struggled with injury.
