Running back analysis: Murray was on pace to shatter Tony Dorsett's single-season rookie rushing record before suffering a fractured ankle on Dec. 11. Murray also is a big-play threat as a receiver out of the backfield. Jones, who lost his starting job to Murray, has more career fumbles (10) than TDs (8) but is a quality No. 2 back.

Receivers analysis: Bryant, Austin and Witten are a formidable trio if they're healthy. Bryant, also in the news for off-field issues, has 17 TDs his first two seasons but has missed five games. Austin has 26 TDs the past three years but missed six games last season. Witten has a lacerated spleen and is questionable for Wednesday's season opener.

Offensive line analysis: A problem area last year, the Cowboys signed two free agents (Livings and Bernadeau) and traded for Cook who provides depth. How the new-look O-line plays is a key variable for an offense loaded with dynamic weapons.
