Members of the Oklahoma State and Missouri programs have felt the Cotton Bowl’s hospitality all week, with events for coaches, players, staff members and their families every day to complement game preparation.
Cowboy coach Mike Gundy said his favorite activity was attending the Dallas Cowboys’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night at AT&T Stadium. Not only was it Gundy’s first NFL game, but former OSU players Dez Bryant, Dan Bailey, Orie Lemon and Joseph Randle are now members of the Dallas Cowboys.
“It was really special for us to see them,” Gundy said. “I think it was a positive influence on our team to see players that they have been in the locker room with, competed with in the summers and during the season and had a personal relationship with guys that are successful, not only as players but quality people.”
Another highlight was a visit to the Texas Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital.
“We were in a little Congo line, and (the kids) got in with us,” Missouri center Evan Boehm said. “We were just dancing and having fun, doing arts and crafts with the kids, signing autographs. Just seeing those kids smile, that really brings out a lot.”
Added OSU offensive lineman Parker Graham: “That was probably my favorite thing, getting to do that.”
