OXNARD, Calif. – Dez Bryant accounted for half of what has been the most significant play of this year’s Dallas Cowboys training camp. His reaction to J.J. Wilcox’s hit after a catch across the middle, sparked the defense and the 25-year-old receiver Sunday afternoon.
Bryant was heated. He then used it as motivation, catching a touchdown pass a few plays later.
“I can’t say enough good things about him,” Cowboys tight end Jason Witten said Tuesday. “To see how much he’s improved and grown as a football player and as a man, it’s special to be a part of. Really, a lot of people are taking credit for that but it’s a testament to him and how he has sacrificed so much.
“I think the other day and the way he played in that scrimmage, I don’t know that I’ve ever seen somebody put the team on their back like he did."
