FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. — Four days after taking over as West Virginia's football coach, Dana Holgorsen went skydiving.
Holgorsen took a tandem jump from about 10,000 feet over the New River Gorge on Tuesday with a U.S. Army parachute team.
Holgorsen, the former offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State, and his partner had a bumpy landing on the New River shoreline but were unhurt.
The Charleston Daily Mail reports Holgorsen had spent time fishing in southern West Virginia on Monday with a group that included boosters and men's basketball coach Bob Huggins. There he met the State Police superintendent, Col. Jay Smithers, who was among those taking a leap with the Army Golden Knights.
Holgorsen was invited along and says he'd always wanted to skydive.
