Featured post – What is the most rain to ever fall in one minute or one hour? – “Wiley Post Airport in Oklahoma City picked up 3.10″ in 1 hour.”

I am pretty sure on a regular day I would be drawn to this post, just because I like stats and history. But this time, I think I was more drawn to know just what happened with the deadly tornados that came through Oklahoma causing so much devastation. These numbers are just amazing, not just the Oklahoma ones, but all over. Mother Nature is sure strange. I can see why so many are drawn to chase storms just to try and answer the big questions why and how? I, myself, have always had these questions. When the tornado was coming close to my house on Friday, May, 31, 2013, I stood outside listening, my heart racing. The sound was so hypnotizing. I knew I should go in and join my mother and my kids in the storm shelter, but I wanted to listen and see. I am such an “Okie.” Ha-ha. The tornado ended up turning more south only two miles from us, so we were saved. Two things this report made me think of: 1. Reports are always saying we are the ones damaging our atmosphere and causing weird weather events with all our technology and cars. If this is true, then why are some of the highest rain totals from the early 1900s? 2. No matter how hard we try to control things, we will never be fully in control.Darla Lindauer

2. Kitty Flix

By: I am unable to find any one person to give credit to, so credit goes to Kitty Flix.

What blog is about – The best user-submitted cat videos and pictures.

Featured post – Bengal Kitty Vs. Golden Retriever – “This doggy has patience, but it’s also not going to let kitty push it around!”

This is so adorable! I love the look on the dog’s face. I have a cat, but he is a loner. He has two cycles he goes through each year. In the winter, he stays in the house, but he sleeps on the heater vent, in my bed or in the cabinet. Summer, he stays in the garage and only comes in to eat. The only thing I can guess is he loves to be hot. That is it. He does nothing else. I got him by accident when I said one time, “I love kittens.” Who doesn’t love kittens? The next Christmas, there he was. I said kitten, not cat. Ha-ha. But, I love him. No one ever sees him. He never comes out. Some even make a joke that he is just in my mind. I even have to search for him sometimes after a few days. I have had him for going on 13 years. – Darla Lindauer

Featured post – What Everyone Should Know About Lyme Disease – “Good news is that there’s a lot we can all do to stop Lyme Disease before it starts or to treat it effectively.”

I had a tick on me last week, and now I realize I should have kept it just in case! Funny thing about watching this video and reading this post is now I am convinced I have the disease! Ha-ha. I was in my mom’s backyard and had only been there five minutes and there it comes walking across my arm! I knew right then if one got me that quick, there were thousands of them ready for the attack in my mind. My mother likes to live green, but I took over on this one. The bug spray went down. I am pretty sure my mother’s yard should be declared a toxic waste now. I do not kid around with bugs. Yes, I am the woman who screams when I see a bug. Just thinking of them, I get light headed and could pass out! Some of the men I work with found this out about two weeks ago. Thank you, Mike and Bryan, for hearing my screams and killing the giant mega beetle, and thanks to everyone else who joined the kill-the-beetle crew providing flashlights and moving furniture! – Darla Lindauer

4. Vain & Able

By: The site references “we” but no names, so credit for this post goes to Vain and Able – “We aim to build a community of like-minded people who share in our mission to make Art accessible and affordable.”

What blog is about – Online art gallery

Featured post – Rice Field Art – A Japanese project in which people use rice of various types and colors to create a giant picture in rice fields.

This is just amazing to me, how can they plan it out so precise for it to come out so perfectly! I would imagine it takes a whole group of people, from designers to engineers, to get it done. I guess my question is, who could afford to spend so much money on such an elaborate design in a rice field. Maybe they get advertisers. A local corn farmer does a unique design in the corn maze every year. Check it out here. P Bar Farms .Darla Lindauer

Featured post – HOW TO: Get Samsung GALAXY S4 Features on iPhone – “If you like the features of Galaxy S4 but want to stick with your iPhone then, the good news is that you can get most of the highlighted features of Samsung Galaxy S4 on iPhone as well.”

This is for all my friends out there with an iPhone! I do not have an iPhone, yet. I just talk about getting one all the time. Do you ever talk to someone who every time you see them they tell you they are getting ready to do or buy something and they never do? Yes, that is me with my crazy phone. I still have a flip phone! I like the apps and features on the new phones, but when it comes down to it, I do not see the need. Why would I spend another $30 or more a month on a product I just don’t have time to use. I am online all day at work. When I go home, I have an 8-year-old with Aspergers and a 3-year-old who keep me very busy! I am lucky to get some text messages out, forget calling anyone or trying to use the web. I have to say, Casio made a hell of a phone. It has more than nine lives I think. I am going to upgrade soon, though. I can feel it! Ha-haDarla Lindauer

By: Well, I can find no name to give the credit to, so the credit will go to Perfectly Timed Photos.

What blog is about – Perfectly Timed Photos is a collection of pics submitted by the public, taken at just the right moment.

Featured post – Most perfectly timed photo ever!

This is just amazing. I cannot believe that a camera could pick this up. I am sure it is a camera that can take a lot of pictures in seconds, but amazing still. I have quite a few friends who are photographers who might like this, but I think all of you will, too. Beware! You are going to get addicted to this site. You will not be able to quit clicking the “next picture” button. Sorry. Ha-ha! At least I warned you. – Darla Lindauer

7. Space: 1970

By: Christopher Mills – “A professional writer of comic books and short fiction in a variety of genres, as well as a DVD reviewer for several pop culture websites.”

What blog is about – “This blog is dedicated to the science fiction films and television series of the 1970s – give or take a few years (say, 1969-1983)”

Featured post – Burger Chef STAR WARS (1977) Poster Commercial – “Star Wars Burger Chef/Burger King posters painted by Del Nichols and offered by both restaurant chains back in the early months of 1978.”

I think I found my heaven blog. As I look through it, I see all the old shows I watched! I am so an addict to old Sci-fi / fantasy shows and movies. My brother and I use to sit down and watch this stuff together. I remember the first time I knew I was going to be a Sci-fi geek. My brother and I were watching “The Dark Crystal,” which came out in 1982, and I remember thinking that this was the most amazing movie I had ever seen. Not really the plot, but the imagination and work that went into making all the characters and wondering how did they do all of that! Not to mention it is good memories of times my brother and I got to spend together. What a fun memory trip. See if it takes you down one, too.Darla Lindauer
