Featured post – 9 Tips to Avoiding Procrastination
If you are a procrastinator, this might help you. But, if you have a more organized way of thinking and doing things, this proves people are so different. Sometimes I am so thankful for my OCD. As I read this, I was confused on why it has to be so complicated. Do people really have to do all of this just to accomplish a goal? This is how it works for me: If it needs to be done, do it. If you have a lot of things to do, then organize and plan it out and do it until you’re done. That is how my mind works. I do not understand all the tips here, but I am sure they are good for the procrastinator. – Darla Lindauer

Bravo to the writer of this post and to the mother who stood her ground. As a mother of a child with Aspergers, I have experienced the great meltdown of the century many times. Thankfully, I am a person who does not really care what other people are thinking or I could be more stressed out than I am at times. I am not sure it is always non-parents who think like this, because I have seen parents give “the look,” as well. Think about this next time you see this happen: My daughter has meltdowns, not to get her way, but because she is unable to process an emotion or situation. As the mother, I wish I could help, but I cannot. She is older now, and, after her outburst, she will say to me, “I wish I could control that better.” Don’t assume a child or the parent is bad. – Darla Lindauer

Featured post – Fall Porch and Yard Decorating Ideas
I just love decorating for fall. Of course, since I have young children, I do have to have two scarecrows and painted pumpkins everywhere. I am not sure a decorator would approve of my look, but it is fun. I liked this post because it gave a few different styles rather than just the pumpkin look. I did see another post that I loved, too, which is “More Easy Garden Projects with Stone.” When your flowers are gone for the winter, it is fun to fill the space with some stone designs. I actually replaced my flowers this year with a rock garden. It looks great all year, and I don’t have to water it! – Darla Lindauer

Featured post – 27 Cats That Immediately Regret Their Decisions
I had a cat going on 13 years, and he never did anything funny like this. He was always a loner cat. This year, he decided to interact with us for the first time. But, my daughter had a major allergic reaction to him, so we had to give him to another family. I was laughing when I saw this blog, though, and I just had to share it. I think, of all of the photos and videos, I love the one where the cat jumps into the bean bag and just stays there. – Darla Lindauer

Featured post – Fattening vs. Flattening Food Quiz
Well, I got a 53% on my quiz. I think if I understood all the types of cholesterol better, I would have gotten a higher score! I guess the good thing is, I learned something. I did not know that trans fat was looked at as a good cholesterol to be used since it has a longer shelf life. I see some research coming on for me. I wish I could go back in time to my grandmother’s house and eat the food from her garden and not have to even think of all these things. - Darla Lindauer
