Darnell Mayberry: Hunch says Dwight Howard winds up in Houston

by Darnell Mayberry Modified: July 1, 2013 at 11:05 am •  Published: July 1, 2013

Thunder beat writer Darnell Mayberry fielded questions from readers this afternoon, with many of the topics centered around free agency. Here's the transcript:

Darnell Mayberry 11:00 a.m. Greetings, ladies and gents.
Trey 11:02 a.m. Darnell, people have been talking about Jeremy Lamb's development as really the key to the Thunder's championship hopes next year. What about Perry Jones III?
Darnell Mayberry 11:03 a.m. I think Lamb is more advanced than PJ3. Lamb has some really impressive offensive skills, namely his shooting. PJ3 can do a little bit of everything, but he still strikes me as more of an athlete at this point.
Holiday 11:03 a.m. After seeing what the celtics are going to get in the trade with the Nets for two aging former stars in Pierce and Garnett with no future, don't we have to reevaluate the Harden trade? Presti gave up a 22 year old #3 pick with superstar talent for Kevin Martin (gone), Jeremy Lamb (bench), and a couple role players in this years daft. We all like to give Presti plaudits when he makes a good decision, but as of now, Houston got the better end of the Harden trade and its not even close.
Darnell Mayberry 11:05 a.m. It's funny how so many people are clinging to anything and everything to fuel their hate of the Harden trade. Why do we have to re-evaluate it because of the Nets-Celtics trade? That's two TOTALLY different situations. Just look at what Brooklyn's tax bill will be this year. If you want that in OKC, then you want to go all in for a title one year and sign up for rebuilding for the foreseeable future. And oh, by the way, the Thunder (to me at least) is still a better team than Brooklyn.
Sterling 11:06 a.m. Which thunder rookie will have the greatest impact this season or next season
Darnell Mayberry 11:06 a.m. Steven Adams.
vell 11:06 a.m. Is there any chance okc gets osik for Perkins
Darnell Mayberry 11:07 a.m. No. Rockets are trying to shed salary, not add it. Houston is trying to dump a center so it can get Dwight, not bring in anyone else at that position who'll take up space.
MartzMimic 11:07 a.m. We know it's not likely that the Thunder will be big players in free agency, so lets move on to the most important question: Has the team reached out to Ron Adams about rejoining the staff?
Darnell Mayberry 11:08 a.m. That I do not know. But it seems that if they haven't it's only a matter of time.
Josh 11:08 a.m. If the rockets bring in D12 does that put them over the top to control the west?
Darnell Mayberry 11:08 a.m. Harden and Howard alone doesn't make them better than the Thunder, Spurs or Clippers.
Cameron 11:08 a.m. Who are the top targets for the Thunder now that free agency has started?
Darnell Mayberry 11:08 a.m. Go down the list of potential third string point guards.
Chad 11:08 a.m. Oj mayo
Darnell Mayberry 11:09 a.m. Not happening.
tom 11:09 a.m. Are PJ3 and Lamb competing for the same minutes next season? If both take a big step up, what are their roles and minutes?
Darnell Mayberry 11:10 a.m. I think PJ3 is behind Lamb. I could be wrong. I know the team loves PJ3's versatility, so that could put him over the top. But Lamb's shooting will be needed, and there's a need for a backup shooting guard now that Kevin Martin is a free agent and likely moving on.
Cameron 11:10 a.m. Hearing David Lee is possibly on the trading block. Do you see the Thunder acquiring David Lee? Do you think he would be a good fit in OKC?
Darnell Mayberry 11:10 a.m. He'd be a good fit on the offensive end. But he makes too much money, and the Thunder would have to give up Serge Ibaka for him.
tom 11:10 a.m. Seems like the Rockets are the favorite to sign Dwight Howard. If so, how does he fit into their offense? He doesn't seem like a guy that would thrive running the floor with 4 guards jacking 3s. Isn't that why he wanted out of Orlando?
Darnell Mayberry 11:11 a.m. They don't have much more offense. Lin and Parsons are still there. Nearly everybody else has gotten the boot. I think Kevin McHale would be smart enough to slow it down every once in awhile and give Howard some touches.
Carey 11:11 a.m. At the very least the Thunder need a third point guard(Even though KD is probably the 3rd point guard offensively). I'd argue that they need another wing shooter and a 4th big on veteran minimum deals but those are just my opinions :). Out of Jerrett, Orton and Liggins who do you think is more likely to be the odd man out to add that 3rd pg?
Darnell Mayberry 11:12 a.m. Well, since there is no guarantee that Jerrett will make the team, I'll go with Orton out of that group.
Podirk 11:13 a.m. Basically the only chance signing Thabo for 2nd round pick(s)...back loaded contract...3-5 first year, 7-9 next 2 years. Martin wants a lil more money then Thunder currently can offer...and wants the starting job. % possiblity?
Darnell Mayberry 11:13 a.m. Zero
Podirk 11:13 a.m. Thunderlings....Steven Adams created it...will you run with it please?
Darnell Mayberry 11:13 a.m. If either of you can explain to me what it means, maybe.
Podirk 11:13 a.m. Ron Adams...would make this off season an A+!
Darnell Mayberry 11:13 a.m. Or close to it.
eren 11:13 a.m. Do you see Roberson filling that Liggins role this year at all, rebounding has always been a lingering issue against teams who can O-rebound
Darnell Mayberry 11:14 a.m. It's possible. But he has an uphill climb on his hands as a rookie.
Brian T 11:14 a.m. I read rumors of OKC's interest in Telfair. Is this true? If so, why? I also heard that if Martin leaves, they plan on using Jackson as the 6th man. Does that explain an interest in Telfair?
Darnell Mayberry 11:15 a.m. I doubt there's anything to the Telfair rumor. Some agent could just be trying to make it seem like a ton of teams are interested in him. Telfair isn't the best fit. The Thunder could do better than him. That one doesn't add up to me. Jackson as a sixth man is just smart. He's the best player on the bench.
Ali 11:15 a.m. Hello Darnell , i'm thunder fan from Turkey.I have question about the Free Agency , what are the latest news about the SG.
Darnell Mayberry 11:16 a.m. Hello Ali. If you're asking about Kevin Martin, he's getting interest from a handful of teams, mostly Minnesota at this point. Rick Adelman, the coach of the Timberwolves, coached Martin in Sacramento and Houston. So they have a previous relationship. It could be a good fit for him.
Aron 11:17 a.m. Do u see any comparison between Adams and Andre Drummond? Who will be on the summer league roster?
Darnell Mayberry 11:18 a.m. I'd like to see how Adams adjusts to the speed of the NBA game first. Summer league: Lamb, PJ3, Orton, Adams, Roberson, Liggins and Jerrett for sure.
The Mindfreak 11:18 a.m. Will OKC's management ever consider going over the luxury tax to win a championship? Staying pat, letting KMart go because we can't afford him, and letting Lamb/Liggins hole his position will not improve us this season. Our glaring flaw is Perk's quickness and finishing ability, let's just bite the bullet and grab someone like Landry, Hickson, or Millsap in FA and move Serge to the 5.
Darnell Mayberry 11:20 a.m. Unless the Thunder amnesties Perk next summer, OKC will almost certainly be over the tax for the 2014-15 season. The Thunder also would have been over it in the upcoming season had James Harden accepted the team's offer. Let's not make it seem like the team is avoiding going into the tax by any means. They're just not going into it unnecessarily.
kiwi fan 11:20 a.m. What are the options available for the new rookies? What if one is not signed?
Darnell Mayberry 11:20 a.m. D-League. Overseas. Couch.
The Mindfreak 11:20 a.m. Will I get re-signed and take over for Thabo once his contract runs out or is my value being completely overlooked?
Darnell Mayberry 11:20 a.m. Who are you?
Pence 11:20 a.m. Are the Thunder looking to bring back Ron Adams as Brooks' lead assistant?
Darnell Mayberry 11:22 a.m. I'd be speaking out of the side of my neck if I said the Thunder is looking to bring him back. But the team did love what he did when he was hear and really respects him as an assistant coach. So they'll likely explore it.
Mark 11:22 a.m. Darnell will you please explain to Thunder fans that their team can't afford to sign any high profile FAs. OKC isn't getting Howard or David West or trading for Asik...
Darnell Mayberry 11:22 a.m. I've tried, Mark. I've tried.
MartzMimic 11:22 a.m. Hello, DM
Darnell Mayberry 11:22 a.m. Sup.
Carl Landry 11:22 a.m. I would look good in an OKC uniform for a 3yr-15mill deal. I can outrebound Perk blindfolded. #justsayin
Darnell Mayberry 11:24 a.m. I agree. Unfortunately your services aren't so sorely needed that it's worth exceeding the tax and putting the Thunder in potential repeater territory in 2015-16.
Guest 11:24 a.m. Could you give a realistic best/worst case scenario for each rookie regarding playing time/role, as well as where you think they will actually end up?
Darnell Mayberry 11:25 a.m. Adams might have a legitimate chance to beat out Thabeet for backup minutes. This summer will be big for both Adams and Thabeet. Best case on Adams: 12 minutes. Worst case: D-League all season. Roberson, best case, would be leapfrogging PJ3 and stealing the spot minutes Liggins received last year. Jerrett's best case is making the team. Worst case is going overseas.
Chas 11:25 a.m. Darnell, what overall grade would you give OKC for Thursday draft and the moves made?
Darnell Mayberry 11:26 a.m. Oh, probably a B. I'm on record in saying Archie Goodwin would have been a great get. I can't understand why the Thunder wouldn't take that kid.
Russ 11:27 a.m. What are the chances KD pulls a LeBron when his contract is up and bolts? Will this be my team in 2016?
Darnell Mayberry 11:30 a.m. I wouldn't say it's a zero percent chance. Durant has said he loves it here, and I believe he really does. But the next two years are absolutely critical. Yes, he has three years on his deal. But stars like Durant generally don't play out the entirety of their contracts if they're seeking a change of scenery. Teams will trade them before they hit free agency, or if they're lucky sign-and-trade after the final contract year. But the rules are making it tougher for teams to complete sign-and-trades, so banking on that could be tough. It's all complicated. I just know that three years isn't as long as it sounds.
Colin 11:30 a.m. Any chance of a sign-and-trade with Martin or will he just leave as a FA?
Darnell Mayberry 11:30 a.m. Thunder is more likely to let him walk.
Cameron 11:30 a.m. Out of all of the Thunders most recent draft picks, who do you see having the biggest impact next season?
Darnell Mayberry 11:30 a.m. Lamb.
Matt 11:30 a.m. Are there any fans that 'over dramatize' things more than OKC fans? You would have thought we got rid of KD with the way everyone is talking about the draft/Perk/Martin.
Darnell Mayberry 11:31 a.m. Oh, there are a few fan bases I can think of.
Rojas 11:31 a.m. Thoughts on Martin staying?
Darnell Mayberry 11:31 a.m. Thoughts? I don't think it's happening.
Tim 11:31 a.m. What are your realistic expectations for Steven Adams his first season? Do you think he'll immediately come in and work himself into the rotation? Or will he be a D-Leaguer for most of the season?
Darnell Mayberry 11:32 a.m. He has to beat out Hasheem Thabeet. I thought Thabeet did a great job last year, but that's not a monumental task.
Brian T 11:32 a.m. Hi Darnell. We all witnessed Presti announcing he won't amnesty Perk. Then, we all saw that OKC were trying to dump Perk to move up in the draft unsuccessfully. It seems they know that it's best to get rid of his contract, so what are the odds that they're not done trying? Is there the slightest chance that Presti still somehow dumps Perk and opens things up for free agency and to acquire a more serviceable big?
Darnell Mayberry 11:33 a.m. Two questions are in play here: 1) how do we know the Thunder really was trying to trade Perk. I'm not so sure. Maybe his name came up in discussions a time or two. But I have doubts about whether Presti was initiating those discussions. 2) Who's going to take back that contract this summer? I can't see any team taking that on.
Ali 11:34 a.m. Is there any news about our Free Agency , i'm a thunder fan from turkey
Beezy 11:34 a.m. Will Ibaka be an All-Star? He should be a 15-10-3 guy.
Darnell Mayberry 11:34 a.m. This year will be tough. Maybe in 2015 if he keeps improving at the rate he has.
Elliott 11:35 a.m. What are the odds of us going for an undrafted Rookie FA for the 3rd PG role?
Darnell Mayberry 11:35 a.m. Slim. The Thunder historically has preferred veterans at that spot.
Carey 11:35 a.m. It's amazing that people dont see the Harden in Houston is a player you'd never see in OKC. I dont like the Adams pick personally but if he develops into a starting Center in 2 yrs, Lamb is the scorer he looks to be, Abrines becomes a Rudy Fernandez esque bench player and no to mention the Dallas pick i think OKC got a good turn on their investment w/3, possibly 4 rotation players for one stud 6th man. And none of those guys developing into those roles are farfetched.
Darnell Mayberry 11:37 a.m. 1) I could write a book on the Harden deal with facts just like that and people still would be adamant that it was the worst trade in NBA history. 2) You're right. It's best for people to look at the Harden trade as a 5-for-1 deal. Because that's essentially what it was. And with the exception of Kevin Martin, we don't know what all those pieces are capable of.
Elliott 11:37 a.m. What are your odds on Fisher coming back now versus half way through the season?
Darnell Mayberry 11:38 a.m. That whole situation is just strange to me. You would think he'd start the season with the team. But Fisher is a player who's gotten exactly what he's wanted throughout his career. If he wants to sit out half the season and then come in and take someone's spot in the rotation AGAIN, that's exactly what he'll do.
Tim 11:39 a.m. New t-shirt slogan? "Perry had a little Lamb"
Darnell Mayberry 11:39 a.m. Trying too hard, Tim.
Beezy 11:39 a.m. Aaron Brooks? (sorry if this gets answered already..)
Darnell Mayberry 11:39 a.m. I've always liked him. But I think he can get more playing time somewhere else and that will be the deciding factor.
Guest 11:39 a.m. Adams just has to be better than perkins to crack into the lineup right? Any chance of that happening? Where would Perk be better?
Darnell Mayberry 11:40 a.m. There is no chance Adams will come in and be better than Perk. No chance. A part of me wishes he actually would get the opportunity so some people could see exactly what it is that Perk does well.
Sara 11:40 a.m. Do you think there is a chance of signing Stephen Jackson for a bargain veteran who can defend and shoot the 3?
Darnell Mayberry 11:41 a.m. Not after the way he cut up in San Antonio. The Thunder is not going to bring him in and risk having a problem child on the roster.
Clint 11:41 a.m. Can lamb create his own shot or is he a spot up shooter like martin?
Darnell Mayberry 11:41 a.m. More of a spot up shooter at this point. But he has the tools to create for himself. He just needs to work on it some more. He's got a nice floater when he gets in the paint.
Colin 11:42 a.m. What do you see as the future of the OKC second team off the bench? RJ, Lamb, PJ3, Collison, Adams? Or something else?
Darnell Mayberry 11:43 a.m. Future? How many years we talking? Because I don't think Jackson is long for OKC. And Adams probably will be the starting center in his third season. So I'd be looking at guys like PJ3, Roberson, Pleiss and Abrines.
Rafael 11:43 a.m. Is there a good chance that Derek Fisher might come back to be our 3rd string PG? If not, who are some names to watch in free agency?
Darnell Mayberry 11:45 a.m. I think he has as good a chance as anybody else. Unless he tries to latch on with Chicago. Miami doesn't need him. Neither does San Antonio. Brooklyn is a possibility. But the Thunder has to be the frontrunner. I tossed out a few names in today's paper. Not saying I think any of these are great options or my first options, but more in terms of Thunder fit: Royal Ivey, Chris Duhon and Nolan Smith.
Elliott 11:46 a.m. We know the odds of us grabbing an awesome FA like we all want are horrible. Who are your realistic targets for the Thunder to sign?
Darnell Mayberry 11:46 a.m. Chris Duhon, Wayne Ellington, Mike Dunleavy.
Darnell Mayberry 11:47 a.m. And that might be overstating things.
Guest 11:47 a.m. From the talk of the draft it sounded like Thunder have a big advantage having Tulsa as a close D-league team they can control. Will all NBA teams want to do that eventually?
Darnell Mayberry 11:48 a.m. More teams are purchasing D-League teams to be their exclusive affiliate. But the locations of those teams vary. It will take a lot more commitment to move those teams to closer venues.
Elliott 11:48 a.m. Are you going to watch summer league?
Darnell Mayberry 11:48 a.m. Not only am I going to watch, but I'm also going to be in Orlando covering it. Can't wait to see the young guys.
Colin 11:49 a.m. Currently Perkins contract is a burden, do you think part of the reason to not amnesty him is that that contract becomes a trade-chip in the form of an expiring contract next season? Do you think Presti might be keeping an eye to the future in that regard? Any idea who he might be targeting?
Darnell Mayberry 11:49 a.m. That could be a reason. But I think it's mostly because the team wins with him regardless of how it looks at times on the court.
Guest 11:49 a.m. If Thabo continues to develop offensively doesn't that make us that much better. I think he's very underrated as a key guy on the team.
Darnell Mayberry 11:50 a.m. Of course.
Jillian 11:50 a.m. What would you say the chances are Liggins gets legitimate minutes this season?
Darnell Mayberry 11:50 a.m. Not looking good unfortunately.
tom 11:50 a.m. I guess the worst case would be "never," so best case scenario - how long until Steven Adams is a solid contributor on this team?
Darnell Mayberry 11:51 a.m. I think he could be a contributor as early as this season. But next year for sure. If not, expect the mob to be out for blood.
Guest 11:51 a.m. Will the Thunder use their MLE? Chris Dunleavy would help the Thunder? No?
Darnell Mayberry 11:51 a.m. I don't think so. (Mike Dunleavy)
Hoiday 11:51 a.m. The thunder where a better team with harden. That's straight up fact. People like to forget that Harden was under contract. Presti had the option to let the season play out. The stars rarely align for a small market team to win a title. And had we lost harden in the end to free agency, would it really have been that different from where things are now with no Martin and a bunch of bench players? Yes, Presti didn't mortgage the future....he mortgaged the present
Darnell Mayberry 11:52 a.m. Sigh
Guest 11:52 a.m. It seems that Adams is being discounted, we'll see in summer league and preseason, but I think he should at least be a backup. I think playing meaningful minutes will speed up his development more than playing in Tulsa
Darnell Mayberry 11:53 a.m. Important to note here: big men generally have no place in settings like summer league. It's not as organized. Guards are dominating the ball. It's fast paced and a lot of times out of control. So even if Adams looks in over his head, don't read too much into it.
Guest 11:53 a.m. Is Reggie going to play summer league?
Darnell Mayberry 11:54 a.m. He's said he wants to. But I can't see him playing more than one game. Two at most if at all.
Guest 11:54 a.m. K Mart's quotes in Sam Amick's article are what Harden should have been saying last year. IMO nothing nothing but class with K Mart
Darnell Mayberry 11:54 a.m. Agreed. Nothing wrong with stating the obvious.
Guest 11:54 a.m. Is Adams as much as a "project" as everyone seems to think he is. Let's say he learns all the x, is he better than Thabeet is right now? Is he better than Orton? Could he play some useful minutes now if Brooks actually put him in the rotation?
Darnell Mayberry 11:55 a.m. That's a BIIIIIIIG if.
Holiday 11:55 a.m. Where does your hunch tell you Dwight Howard ends up?
Darnell Mayberry 11:55 a.m. Houston.
Guest 11:56 a.m. If Lionel Hollins isn't picked up, he'd be great as an assistant.
Darnell Mayberry 11:56 a.m. Not sure why he'd do that.
Tim 11:56 a.m. Any news on how Westbrook is progressing?
Darnell Mayberry 11:56 a.m. Durant told me he's doing great.
MartzMimic 11:56 a.m. I'm not saying he's acted upon it, but don't you think it's at least crossed the minds of Sam Presti and the owners that, "With the Heat being the Heat, maybe if we bide our time we can avoid being the Jazz to Jordan's Bulls."
Darnell Mayberry 11:57 a.m. The Heat are not going to be the Heat for much longer. The CBA is going to penalize that team one way or another. Either they'll have to trade one of those guys, or they'll be so handicapped by the rules that they won't be able to improve the roster. That, or D-Wade breaks down, whichever comes first.
Rojas 11:57 a.m. If Martin leaves does Lamb gain ground as the 6th man?
Darnell Mayberry 11:58 a.m. Reggie Jackson has the inside track for that job.
kk 11:58 a.m. i'm ready for some player to take a pay cut to come to OKC to win a championship a la Ray Allen
Darnell Mayberry 11:58 a.m. What, Derek Fisher wasn't good enough for you?
Pag 11:58 a.m. Do you think the Thunder should cut Thabeet along with Orton?Adams playing these minutes will help his development plus salary cap relief
Darnell Mayberry 11:59 a.m. Not both of them, no. And since Thabeet showed some promise I'd like to see what another year in the program could do for him.
tom 11:59 a.m. Can Liggins be the 3rd string point guard?
Darnell Mayberry 11:59 a.m. In my dreams maybe
Jondough 11:59 a.m. Any chance thunder goes after big al?
Darnell Mayberry 11:59 a.m. Yeah, sure.
Guest 11:59 a.m. Any chance they look at Jonny Flynn, who is playing in Australia,
Darnell Mayberry 12:00 p.m. There's a name I haven't heard in a while. I'm just not sure many teams think he's any good.
Cameron 12:00 p.m. Are you a fan of the new KD VI?
Darnell Mayberry 12:00 p.m. Yes.
Jay 12:00 p.m. Will Derek Fisher be back?
Darnell Mayberry 12:00 p.m. As of today, I'd say yes.
C.R. 12:00 p.m. A handful of local media "experts" have gone on the record and just trashed the Thunder draft, saying that they should have taken a Guard instead of a project Center to make up for Martin's points. Do you think it's actually an unfair argument considering the Thunder already have a lottery pick SG in Lamb that these critics seem to downplay simply since he really didn't crack the rotation last year?
Darnell Mayberry 12:01 p.m. Yes. It's a silly argument. Lamb and Jackson are better than any guard the Thunder could have gotten in this draft.
Brian T 12:01 p.m. Is Ronnie Brewer gonna be gone, or are his talents going to be wasted sitting on the bench again? I always thought his rebounding could be very much used in short situational bursts backing up KD, but that's just me.
Darnell Mayberry 12:01 p.m. Yeah, he's gone.
Guest 12:01 p.m. Brooklyn is going to bring in Korver. Are they trying to have their tax bill match their actual payroll? smh
Darnell Mayberry 12:01 p.m. Try explaining this to the guy above who thought the Harden trade needed to be re-evaluated because of what the Nets are doing.
kk 12:02 p.m. what are your thoughts on Harden supposedly mocking the Thunder's #12 pick on twitter?
Darnell Mayberry 12:02 p.m. I would hope he didn't do that.
Darnell Mayberry 12:02 p.m. But I wouldn't be surprised if he did.
Guest 12:02 p.m. Will you at least put your Harden trade "book" into memo form and forward it to Bill SImmons?
Darnell Mayberry 12:02 p.m. He's the leader of the pack. There's no convincing him.
Cody W. 12:03 p.m. NOBODY sees that Perk is there to defend the post and set ELITE screens. He isn't there to score. At last check, we were the #1 team in the league on offense. What we need is consistent guard play. Any chance of Jackson FLOURISHING this year and grabbing a 6th MOY award (I know I'm reaching, just want your thoughts)
Darnell Mayberry 12:04 p.m. Perk just has to stop shooting and turning it over so much...I'm really high on Jackson. I think a sixth man award is realistic. He might even be my preseason pick.
C.R. 12:04 p.m. Any word or rumor as to why Jammal Franklin dropped all the way to Memphis at 41??
Darnell Mayberry 12:04 p.m. Teams don't think he's that good. Simple as that. Sucks for him that Hollins is no longer there. He could have really been a steal under Hollins.
Cody W. 12:05 p.m. With your job, you are a very lucky man, Darnell. Just throwing that out there.
Darnell Mayberry 12:05 p.m. Thanks for the reminder. I mean that.
Pat 12:05 p.m. Is Durant a bit overrated? I think he is.
Darnell Mayberry 12:05 p.m. Who's better than him other than LeBron?
Guest 12:05 p.m. What makes you think Reggie Jackson's years in OKC are numbered?
Darnell Mayberry 12:06 p.m. He's eligible for a contract extension next summer. You know how many teams would love to get their hands on an explosive young point guard who is a triple-double threat?
Joel 12:06 p.m. Why did the Thunder draft Adams, who clearly is unpolished as a player and can't shoot (44% free throws)when Olynyk and Plumlee were available?
Darnell Mayberry 12:07 p.m. Because he was rated higher than Olynyk and Plumlee on the Thunder's board. I think Olynyk stinks. Plumlee I liked and thought he could have been a serviceable center for this team. But he's three years older than Adams and doesn't have the body to bang like Adams.
Brett 12:08 p.m. Also, The Mindfreak is Liggins' nickname from college.
Darnell Mayberry 12:08 p.m. Thanks for explaining that.
Rojas 12:08 p.m. Is Adams going to be Cole Take 2?
Darnell Mayberry 12:09 p.m. I doubt it. Cole got a bad rap because he never got to play. I wonder how much different it would have turned out for Cole if Brooks actually played him.
Cody W. 12:09 p.m. @MartzMimic Cmon, big dog. This is a professional sport, and winning is the objective. No way to tell if there is another "Heat" looming to take it's place.
Darnell Mayberry 12:09 p.m. I think he means the current Heat.
Angad 12:10 p.m. Is letting go of Harden one of the 10 worst trades of all time? Bill Simmons says so and I agree with him.
Darnell Mayberry 12:10 p.m. (sigh)
Darnell Mayberry 12:11 p.m. And on that note, thanks for joining us today. Maybe we can do it again next week during summer league. Have a great week everybody.
