Date set for ZooBrew V at Oklahoma City Zoo

by Nick Trougakos Published: June 25, 2013

If you like beer and you like supporting the Oklahoma City Zoo — and who doesn’t like both? — then put this down on your calendar: The date for ZooBrew V has been announced and the fundraiser is set for Friday, Sept. 27.

The annual beer-and-food-tasting event will be held again at the zoo, with tickets going on sale Aug. 1. Ticket sales will be capped at 100 for the early Pre-Brew event set for 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and at 750 for the main event from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Pre-Brew tickets are $60 and afford the attendee the chance to try special brews and appetizers not available during regular ZooBrew hours. The tickets include admission to ZooBrew.

ZooBrew tickets are $30 for ZooFriends members; $35 for non-members; and $10 for designated drivers.

Oklahoma Zoological Society Executive Director Dana McCrory said the event will again be held at the lakeside pavilion, where it was held last year after three years of staging at The Canopy food court.

McCrory said the response to the venue change last year was highly positive, with many saying it made the event feel more festive. She said tickets for Pre-Brew typically sell out within three days, so you’ll need to act fast Aug. 1 if you want to take part in that.

Daily Pints

-Marshall Brewing has scheduled an Arrowhead Pale Ale Randall night at The College Bar in Stillwater. The event is set for 6 p.m. July 11 at the bar, 319 S Washington. A Randall is a device popularized by Dogfish Head Craft Brewing that can be used to infuse beer with the flavor and aroma of whole leafs hops, among other things.

-Reminder: This Thursday is the Sour Beer Pint Night at TapWerks. A great selection of sour beers and glassware will be available. Things get kicked off at 6 p.m.
