Dates set for Bedlam, OU at Iowa State football games

The final two question marks on Oklahoma’s 2014 football schedule were cleared up this week when the Sooners posted their complete schedule for next season.

OU Assistant Athletic Director for Communication Pete Moris confirmed Thursday that the posted schedule was correct. Moris said no changes were expected, though added the disclaimer that dates are still subject to change.

That includes Bedlam, set for Dec. 6 in Norman and Iowa State on Nov. 1 in Ames.

When the Big 12 schedule was originally announced, the Bedlam game was listed as being either Nov. 29 or Dec. 6.

The earlier date is on Thanksgiving weekend. While a game that weekend makes it difficult for students and others traveling for the holidays to attend the game, coaches have expressed concern over missing out on time recruiting by having a game scheduled for the first week of December.

The Iowa State game was listed as a possible Thursday Oct. 30 game.

No game times have been finalized for the upcoming season.

Earlier this month, Oklahoma’s game against Tulsa, originally scheduled for Sept. 20, was moved to Sept. 6. The Sooners game against West Virginia was moved up a week to Sept. 20.
