EDMOND — Students interested in learning how city government works can apply for membership on the Edmond Youth Council through July 15.
Youth council members have an opportunity to meet with city officials and take tours. They also will participate in a mock city council meeting in which they will act as council members making decisions on current issues.
The council is open to students ages 15 to 18.
A second opportunity is Edmond Involved. The board is open for students in grades 6 to 12 and ages 13 to 18.
As a member of the teen board, students will lead their peers in hands-on projects and will impact citizens young and old within the community.
The board meets monthly to plan service projects they feel are important to the betterment of the community.
Applications for both of the youth programs are available at www.ed
