Wrecks have killed five people on Oklahoma roads, authorities reported.
Carol Anne Aguiar, 56, of Vici
Aguiar died after a single-vehicle collision about 6 p.m. Tuesday less than a mile east of Orion in Major County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.
Aguiar was driving west on U.S. 60 when the accident happened for unknown reasons, troopers said.
Troopers reported Aguiar died at the scene and that her seat belt was in use.
Thomas J. Cotrone II, 36, of Norman
Shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday, Cotrone was riding a motorcycle east on State Highway 9 in Norman.
A pickup driven by Billy Becknell, 59, of Norman, drove into the left turn lane to northbound 108th Avenue SE and slowed for traffic when the motorcycle hit the pickup’s trailer, Norman police reported.
Cotrone was taken to Norman Regional Hospital where he died. Cotrone, a former Norman police officer, was wearing a helmet, police reported.
A fatal crash was reported Wednesday morning in southwest Oklahoma City.
The crash at S Meridian Avenue and Newcastle Road was reported at 6:14 a.m., reports fire Battalion Chief Brian Stanaland.
Details on the accident were not available.
Thomas Blair Jr, 35, of Wagoner
About 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, Blair was driving a pickup on 52nd W Avenue in Osage County. Another pickup failed to stop at a stop sign and hit Blair’s pickup, causing it to roll over. Blair was ejected about 20 feet from the car, troopers said.
Blair, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. The other pickup’s driver and passenger were taken to a Tulsa hospital, troopers said.
About 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, a vehicle was driving south on 30th Street and failed to stop at a stop sign while turning west onto Southgate Road near Enid. A pickup hit the vehicle on the driver’s side.
The driver of the vehicle, whose information was withheld until next-of-kin notification has been made, died at a hospital in Enid, troopers said.
The driver of the pickup was treated and released.
