Price Edwards & Co. co-founder Carl Edwards, Film Row developer Chip Fudge and Greater Oklahoma City Chamber President Roy Williams will be honored at the 27th annual Dean A. McGee Awards hosted by Downtown Oklahoma City Inc.

The 2013 Dean A. McGee Award Ceremony will be on May 30 in the Skirvin Hilton Grand Ballroom at One Park Avenue. The black-tie evet begins with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and award presentation at 7 p.m.

The 2013 co-chairs are Cathy O'Connor, president of The Alliance for Economic Development in Oklahoma City, and Kirk Humphreys, former mayor and chairman of The Humphreys Co.

“These three honorees have humbly displayed visionary leadership and extraordinary dedication to a downtown we are proud to call home,” said O'Connor, who received the Stanley Draper Award in 2009. “All of Oklahoma City and future generations greatly benefit from the actions and decisions made by Carl, Roy and Chip.”

Efforts downtown

The Dean A. McGee Award will be given to Edwards and recognizes individuals for contributions to downtown Oklahoma City. It is named after Dean A. McGee, the Oklahoma City business leader who chaired Kerr-McGee Corp. for two decades and was passionate about developing downtown for future generations.

Edwards began his career downtown at Liberty Bank. In 1988, he co-founded a commercial real estate service company, Price Edwards & Co., that has grown to become the largest in Oklahoma.

Edwards was one of the pioneers in developing downtown's bioscience campus and has led several business and civic boards for downtown organizations, including chairman of the Board of Trustees of Presbyterian Health Foundation, past chairman of the Oklahoma Bioscience Association and past chairman of the Oklahoma Health Center Foundation board.
