Award-winning creators Dean Haspiel and Mark Waid will be the creative team on the new Red Circle series “The Fox.”

Red Circle is the current name of the Archie Comics-published line of superhero comics.  The character of the Fox first appeared in 1940 as part of the MLJ line.  The character appeared in revivals in the 1960s and 1980s; the 1980s character in the storyline was the son of the original.   The character received an action figure from Remco in 1984 as part of the Mighty Crusaders line.

Archie, via the Red Circle imprint, revived their superhero line with the volume “New Crusaders: Rise of the Heroes.”

According to a news release, this summer’s “New Crusaders: Legacy” TPB features both new and classic stories including Alex Toth‘s run on “The Fox,” and contributions from comic book legends Steve Ditko, Carmine Infantino, and more.

The previously solicited New Crusaders: Dark Tomorrow will receive a new release date in early 2014, according to the release.
