Death of person found in car pulled from Oklahoma's Foss Lake ruled an accident

— The death of a person found inside a car at the bottom of Foss Lake last year was ruled an accident, the state medical examiner’s office said Tuesday.

The remains of three people were found inside a green 1952 Chevrolet in the lake Sept. 17. Medical examiners determined the probable cause of death for one of the three people was drowning. The person has not been identified.

Causes and manners of death for the other two people in the car haven’t been released.

Authorities think the 1952 Chevrolet is linked to an incident of three adults reported missing from Canute in 1969. The state medical examiner reported the remains inside the car were two males and a female.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers also found three bodies inside a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro that was pulled from the lake. Investigators are working to identify those remains.
