DETROIT (AP) — General Motors Co. said Friday that its December U.S. sales fell 6 percent as its top-selling pickup truck came under pressure from discounts by competitors. The company also blamed bad weather in the Midwest and Black Friday promotions that pulled sales from December into November.
BY THE NUMBERS: The Detroit automaker said it sold 230,157 cars and trucks last month, down from 245,733 a year ago.
TOP SELLERS: Chevrolet Silverado sales fell 16 percent to 42,593. But Chevy Malibu midsize car sales rose 33 percent to 15,493.
HOT MODELS: Cadillac ATS small sports sedan, up 31 percent to 3,887. Redesigned Chevy Corvette muscle car sales more than doubled to 3,005.
